The net salary of young employees is some 50 percent less than that expected. The most significant discrepancy between expectations and real salary is registered in the pharmaceutical field, where real earnings are 67 percent below expectations, the study shows.
Employees who have worked for one year expect an average salary of €530, but only earn €340. Those whose working experience exceeds four years say they are worth at least €900 per month, while earning some €600.
“If we consider 30-40 percent salary rises last year in all areas, I do not feel the gap can be that wide between expectations and employers’ offers. The salaries for entry-level positions are correct, as many young graduates are not well prepared and require training,” said HR advisory company Total Business Solutions Managing Partner Daniela Necefor. Multinational companies spend an annual average €2,000 to train entry-level employees.
