The company is looking to invest in the Algocalmin and Antinevralgic brands, which dominate the local analgesic market, according to company representatives. Algocalmin has a 22 percent market share, while Antinevralgic claims 12 percent of the local over-the-counter (OTC) drug market. Monthly sales of Algocalmin and Antinevralgic pills amount to 1 million and 600,000, respectively.
Zentiva has a local portfolio of some 200 products, of which 50 come from the company’s global portfolio, and the remainder is part of the portfolio of former Sicomed producer, taken over by Zentiva.
After announcing a 44 percent drop in sales in Q1, the company’s General Manager, Dragos Damian, expects the situation to improve in the second quarter. Zentiva has invested RON 25 million (€6.82 mln) in its production unit in Bucharest in the last two years.
