“Sales through September met our expectations. There was a drop in October compared to expectations, and whether or not we reach the planned level of €400 million for the entire year will depend on the evolution of the market, in light of current economic conditions. We can not yet make a prognosis on exact evolution of the market this year, because we do not know to what extent the crisis will affect Romania and how this will manifest itself,” said Dan Ostahie, President of Altex.
The company posted turnover worth €170 million in the first half of the year, up 47 percent compared to H1 2007, said company representatives. It reported net sales in 2007 of €317 million and losses of some €3 million.
Ostahie is pestimistic about next year’s outlook, and expects consumer habits to change.
