Blue Air considers losses due to fuel prices
Last year, Blue Air posted some €1 million in profit, although it had higher costs due to relocating operations on the more expensive Henri Coanda International Airport in northern Bucharest for several months. The company is operating from Bucharest's Baneasa airport, which underwent repair works last year.

Higher fuel prices are to impact on the company's business, according to Racaru. "Since December 2004, when we started operations, until last year, we had doubled business each year. However, for 2008 we estimate a 30 percent increase," he said.
Last year, the company had 900,000 passengers and turnover worth €95 million. For this year, business is set to amount to €120 million.

The company is improving its fleet with larger planes, more environment-friendly and able to carry more passengers. It launched flights with its first Boeing 737-800 Next Generation yesterday. A total of seven planes of this type are to be delivered in the following years.
