“We are trying to merge departments, redefine positions, and motivate employees, in order to handle a larger volume of activity,” Draghici told Business Standard, adding that the airline is not planning any layoffs.

The company is looking for sales specialists, experienced commanding pilots, and licensed air engineers. “We are looking for people who will open new markets for our airline, and need employees with entrepreneurial spirits. But most come from ticketing agencies, where they have learned only how to sell tickets,” the HR manager said.

The company’s personnel-related costs exceeded RON 30 million (€6 mln) in 2008, with a RON 53,000 (€12,300) annual average per employee, up some eight percent year-on-year.
