Broker market up to €100 mln

Estimates of average fees were provided by the main brokerage companies for each investor type on the Romanian market.

Brokers estimate that the market rose some 40 percent last year compared to 2006, and some 70 percent on 2005. This growth is connected to higher trading volumes on the market, but was also impacted by lower fees charged by brokers in recent years.

Last year, the value of stock market transactions totaled €5.44 billion, some 80 percent higher year-on-year.

“The €100 million value is not very low, but neither is it very high. It should have been significantly higher for such a field, so there is still room for growth,” said the President of Intercapital Invest brokerage agency, Razvan Pasol.
