Budget returns to deficit

By the end of November, the general consolidated budget registered a RON 4.43 billion deficit (€1.3 bln), or 1.14 percent of Gross Domestic Product (GDP). Budget revenues amounted to €33.4 bln, while expenditures totaled €34.7 bln. The budget had a 0.12 percent surplus until October.

The budget deficit for 2007 was set at 2.4 percent of GDP. According to estimates by the National Prognosis Commission (CNP), GDP is to amount to some €118 bln.
