BVB lost companies worth €315 million

The number of companies traded on RASDAQ dropped to 1,634, the same as in 1996, when the electronic market was founded. The two companies listed on BVB are also the ones with the highest market value upon delisting. Policolor market capitalization was €72.9 million, while Şapte Spice was worth €64 million.

The paint producer was delisted after Cyprus-based Romanian Investment Fund, RC2, and Romanian Reconstruction investment funds gained control of the entire company.“This year’s withdrawals had little impact on turnover on the market and the investor’s interest in the stock market, because these companies had low free-float and liquidity,” according to Eldainvest broker Manager, Adrian Mănăilă.

On the other hand, brokers are not expecting to see many new companies listed on BVB this year. Their only hope is to see the Proprietatea Fund (FP) and Banca Comercială Română (BCR), controlled by Austrian Erste group. Meanwhile, Farmaceutica Remedia, COMCM Constanţa şi Boromir Buzău companies transferred their shares from RASDAQ to BVB’s main market.
