“Growth will be sustained by high productivity offered by the automatic production line, increased retail sales, and new market segments which the company will penetrate with its new Myria brand,” company officials told Business Standard. The company underwent several major changes, with its automated production line PC factory opening in March 2006, and the launching of a new brand in December 2006. The company’s plans to consolidate its position on the market in 2007, especially with the Myria brand, to develop its product portfolio, and to enter new retail and business market segments.
“Results registered in the retail segment through the Altex and Media Galaxy networks ensure the company’s consolidation on this market and serve as a basis for future development in the business segment,” said Gabriel Jitaru, CEO of CES. CES’s business increased by 16.9 percent in Q2 2007 year-on-year, and includes desktops, notebooks and servers. It posted €21 million worth in net sales in 2006, up by one fifth year-on-year.
“We want to take on private sector projects, and for this we are developing a special program to help us attract companies specializing in this field,” Jitaru added. CES ranks second among top PC producers in Romania, according to market research company International Data Corporation (IDC), and is a member of the Altex group, leader on the electronic and household appliance retail market in Romania.
In terms of value, CES is among the top five PC producers, of which it is the only local company, according to CES.
