Dacia, the largest car producer in Romania, plans to increase the number of employees and to continue the development of its SUV model, Stroe said.
Renault announced it will increase sales prices, freeze personnel recruiting in Europe, and consider postponing several projects due to harsh market condition.
However, according to Stroe, the measure will not be enforced in Romania. “Dacia’s personnel is only 94 percent compared to our budget. We currently have 14,800 employees and plan to recruit more staff,” he said.
As for Renault projects in Romania, relating to the development of several models based on the Logan brand, these are in an advanced stage, and will not be cancelled, Stroe added. “Logan’s results in Romania have encouraged the continuity of this project, so I am not worried that any of the Logan-related projects could be stopped,” he said.
