“The fourth quarter will bring a 60 percent increase in sales, in terms of units,” compared to previous quarters, Dell Country Manager for Romania and Bulgaria, Mihai Guran, told Business Standard. However, he did not say what the expected sales value would be.
He added that the overall PC market is expected to increase by 60-70 percent in the fourth quarter, compared to Q3. The final months of the year usually bring special offers in retail units, due to the Christmas and New Year holidays.
Classic retail - IT&C product stores and hypermarkets - claimed a 60 percent ratio for Dell sales in the past quarter. Individual consumers usually acquire IT products from retail units, both classical and online. Companies mostly acquire PCs from distributors.
Dell also plans to increase its corporate segment sales. It recently launched a new series of Latitude laptops, targeting the business segment. By the end of the year, the local branch estimates it will sell some 5,000 units, or 20-30 percent of total Q4 sales.
