Bral, who is in Romania for a series of meeting meant to prepare the launch in the fall, said that the switch will take place regardless of the economic context. “From what I have seen so far, regarding the Romanian market and audiences, the coverage and performance of our content, we are still is good shape. Last year, when we introduced the first Disney programs on Jetix, the channel jumped immediately to the top position among television channels for children on the market,” he added.
Bral further said that the idea of the new channel generated “huge interest” among advertising clients, especially since the new channel will start off with a rather large subscriber base, namely the one taken over from Jetix.
“Our strategy is very simple, very transparent and focused: delivering high quality content. [...] The Romanian Disney Channel will be, in my opinion, one of the best Disney channels. It will be special because it will combine the best programs of all the other channels,” Bral added.
