Doha Bank has opened its first representative office in Romania

Doha Bank has expanded its presence abroad by opening a representative office in Bucharest, becoming the first bank from Qatar to open an office in Romania, according to a communique published on the bank’s internet site.

Doha Bank already has operational branches in New York and Dubai, as well as representative offices in Singapore, Turkey, Tokyo and Shanghai, with Romania the eighth country to the ank has expanded.

The opening ceremony took place at representative office headquarters in the Marriott Grand Offices, attended by special guest, Ambassador of Qatar to Romania, Salem Abdullah Sultan Al Jaber. Other prominent guests were the Ambassadors of Egypt, Jordan and Iraq, officials of the Chamber of Commerce and the Romanian-Turkish Chamber of Commerce, and government officials.

On this occasion, R. Seetharaman, Group Chief Executive Officer of Doha Bank said “Romania is an important economy located in Eastern Europe and hence acts as a gateway to European markets.”
