"An additional document with the FCC company will be required for the work on the Nokia investment, which includes the railway crossing section, to ensure access to the national road toward Cluj," said Orban, quoted by NewsIn.
He added that the necessary funds to solve the problem regarding the modernization of the national CFR Jucu railway station or the building of a new station platform will be supplemented.
Orban promised financial support for the transport infrastructure of Nokia Village, as the Finnish Nokia company will start producing its first mobile phones as of 15 January 2008. According to Dorin Claian, Technical Manager of the Tetarom Industrial Park, once the Nokia production is launched, more than 300 trucks loaded with mobile phones will leave the park every day. Access roads to Nokia Village are 89 percent finalized.
The Nokia highway, which will be built to connect the Nokia factory and Transilvania Highway will be 40 km long and cost some €500 million, according to Romania's National Highway and National Road Company (CNADNR). It is likely to be built as of next year, and is meant to ease the traffic between the factory and the highway to be built by Bechtel.
