Ferrari importer plans to sell 15 cars in 2008

The price for a Ferrari car varies on external markets, from €110,000 to €1.5 million, no taxes included.

Ferrari representatives say they have no direct competition in Romania for the time being. “The main competitor worldwide is Lamborghini,” said Valcu.

Forza Rossa will open the first Ferrari showroom in the town of Otopeni, north of Bucharest, near the international airport Henri Coanda. Ferrari’s president, Luca Cordero di Montezelmo, will attend the event. The showroom will include a service unit, an accessories store and a club of luxury brand owners.

Auto Italia, importer of Fiat, Alfa Romeo, Lancia and Maserati, was a potential importer for Ferrari before Forza Rossa took over the imports. The company was founded in April, last year, and has two Romanian businesspeople and a Luxembourg-based holding as shareholders.

New car sales on the Romanian market rose by 23.4 percent last year, up to 366.819 cars, while the auto industry, which includes two local manufacturers, Dacia-Renault and Ford, owner of Automobile Craiova, and car parts producers, posted turnover totaling €7.2 billion, 28 percent higher year-on-year.
