First Orange iPhone clients opt for the 16 GB version with subscription

The Friday launch of the iPhone 3G resulted in 100 phones being sold in Bucharest, according to Orange .  The company General Manager, Richard Moat, estimates it will sell several tens of thousands units by the end of the year.  “iPhone is a special, captivating terminal, with numerous multimedia capabilities, and I am sure that Romanian users will be interested in our offer,” Moat added.  The number of pre-orders for this phone from the operator’s site exceeded 6,000.

As concerns the price of the iPhone on the Romanian market, Richard Moat indicated that this was determined by the average wage of the Romanian mobile phone user, relatively low compared to other European countries, and this can not be any lower.  Its price will range from €170-€489, as part of the Orange Romania offer, and depending on the model, type of subscription, and contract duration.
