Ford sales in Romania up 38%
“Sales in the first six months are in accordance with our estimates. The goal we have set for this year is 26,000 units sold, up 20 percent compared to 2007,” said the company’s General Manager, Gabriel Bondarenco. Romcar plans to reach this target by developing its sales network. It currently has 37 showrooms and 37 authorized service centers. By the end of the year, Romcar intends to have 45 showrooms to ensure that the Ford brand is present throughout the country.

The importer estimates some €340 million worth of business in 2008, some 24 percent higher year-on-year. Romcar, which imports 14 Ford models, is part of Tiriac Holdings, owned by one of Romania’s wealthiest businesspeople, Ion Tiriac.
