The percentage of women in Romania who target top positions is double that registered in the Europe, Middle East, and Africa region (EMEA), at five percent, and similar to that registered globally, of 12 percent.
“Primary and secondary education was mandatory in Romania, which led to a level of education superior to other countries. As far as higher education is concerned, there is still the possibility of taking free classes, which is a real opportunity for all who wish to have top management positions,” Eliza Nechifor, Marketing&Communication Coordinator of Manpower Romania, told Business Standard.
Most employees globally (44 percent) said that gender is not important for being a good manager, while one in four respondents answered that men are better managers. The survey indicated that the Americans are the only ones who believe that women are better managers than men.
