Cargus, one of the major local express delivery and transportation companies, plans to increase its net sales by up to 40 percent this year, to €35 million. The estimated rise is due to the development of services currently provided by the company and the launching of new services, Cargus President, Augustin Plesea, told Business Standard.
The company posted net sales worth €6 million in the first quarter of 2007, up 50 percent year-on-year.
Mail and package transportation makes up 85 percent of the company’s operations, while cargo transportation accounts for a further 5 percent. Some 90 percent of operations are on the local market, and 10 percent abroad.
Cargus also plans to invest some €2.5 million in IT and security equipment. Plesea added that the company will buy 200 cars this year, thus increasing transportation vehicles to 1,500.
