ING Asigurari de Viata: premiums worth €71 million

The ING Asigurari de Viata insurance company, subsidiary of Dutch ING group, offering banking, insurance and investment management services, registered €71 million worth of subscribed gross premiums in the first half of 2007, up one fifth from H1 2006, according to ING's financial report. The Romanian division registered the highest growth rate of subscribed gross premiums of all ING branches operating in Central and Eastern Europe.

ING Asigurari de Viata posted a gross profit of €4 million in the first six months of 2007, dropping 43 percent from the €7 million registered in H1 2006. In the second quarter, the company registered €37 million in subscribed gross premiums, up from €29 million posted in Q2 2006. The Polish, Czech and Hungarian divisions registered the most significant profits of the group's subsidiaries in Central and Eastern Europe. The ING subsidiary in Poland posted profit worth €86 million, up 37 percent from €63 million registered in H1 2006, and €137 million in subscribed gross premiums, increasing 10 percent year-on-year from €124 million. The ING division in Hungary posted €39 million in profit, 18 percent more than the €31 million reached in H1 2006.
