Benefits for second level managers include Audi A4, Volkswagen Passat and Ford Mondeo, while middle level managers get Ford Focus and Volkswagen Golf, the study shows. Sales representatives drive Renault Clio and Peugeot 206, while specialized personnel get Renault Clio, Dacia Logan and Skoda Fabia. Some 91 percent of companies studied by ConsulTeam provide key employees with cars.
"We are not talking about employees who must have the use of a car, based on their job description. The most important reason for granting a company car as a benefit is the employee's social status," according to ConsulTeam Country Manager Oana Botolan.
In Bulgaria, only 84 percent of companies provide cars for their managers, and top choices are Volvo S80, Toyota RAV4 and Peugeot 407.
Czech managers drive Audi A6, Volkswagen Passat, Skoda Superb and Volvo S60, while Polish managers prefer Volvo S80, Audi A6 and Lexus. Providing company cars for key employees is part of company strategies to increase bonuses and benefits, instead of fixed salaries, for valuable employees, according to Oana Botolan. "More and more companies are rewarding their employees based on evaluation of their business results," she said.
