Mediaedge:cia posted net sales worth €17.9 mln in 2006, a 30 percent increase from 2005. The company’s net income rose by some 6 percent in 2006, to €0.37 mln.
“An increase in the number of local and international clients, applying the planning and media strategy methods and instruments developed by MEC at global level, developing the digital interaction department, as well as developing long-term projects, boost our confidence in this year’s evolution trends,” the Managing Director of Mediaedge:cia Romania, Bogdan Prajisteanu, told Business Standard.
MEC, part of the WPP Romania communication group, entered the Romanian market in May 2007, after taking over the Media Insight agency, founded in 2000. MEC’s clients include local companies, such as Bigotti, Cargill, Elite, Ferrero, GTC, Ikea, Orkla Foods, PlusDiscount, Tchibo, Safilar, and URBB, as well as international firms like Visa, Beiersdorf, Michelin, Novartis, and Sony Ericsson.
The agency ranked second in terms of turnover in Central and Eastern Europe in 2006, according to estimates made by RECMA, the only research company publishing intelligence on the worldwide media agency industry.
