Two diplomats expelled, the Prut border, dividing Romania and the Republic of Moldova shut tight, and compulsory visas for Romanians who would ever want to enter Moldova: these are the first international level measures by the communist regime in Chisinau, after winning the elections and losing control of angry crowds.
“We are more than 10,000 here and counting! We will not give up, and we will not crack under pressure! We do not want those who won the elections to get hold of their mandates, so that there can be new elections,” according to a statement yesterday by Vitalia Pavlicenco, leader of the European Action Movement, one of the organizers of the protests.
Authorities in the Republic of Moldova decided to reintroduce compulsory visas for Romanian citizens as of today and to declare Romania’s Ambassador to Moldova, Filip Teodorescu, and the Counselor-Minister of the Embassy, Ioan Gaborean, personae non gratae.
