According to representatives of SkyEurope, Greenway is expecting growth of 15-20 percent in turnover on the Romanian market this year, of up to €8.5 million, and a 100 percent occupancy rate, even without taking into consideration supplementary flights to Vienna. Greenway took over recently from Karim Makhlouf.
“The new Officer is expecting an increase in turnover not only in Romania, but also in the region, through supplementary and new flights,” said Mihaela Badic, Marketing Director for Romania. The Slovak airline presently has two daily return Bucharest-Vienna flights, with an 85 percent occupation rate. Company officials could supplement these flights or introduce new direct flights to Vienna from other Romanian airports, such as Cluj-Napoca.
Some half of SkyEurope clients are Austrians, while 40 percent are Romanians. The airline presently flies out of Aurel Vlaicu Airport, which services low-cost airlines, but is discussing the possibility of moving its flights to Henri Coanda Airport based on its new development strategy, targeting the business segment, which is far more demanding.
