This is the first management change operated by the new majority shareholder, Advent International investment fund, following the purchase of Ceramica’s controlling interests this July. The company also has a new Board of Directors President, Bruno Negoita.
He confirmed Mangalagiu is Ceramica’s new general manager. “He is currently gathering a new team and, in the following weeks, we are to announce our goals on the market. Advent International is to make significant investments in this company,” Negoita added.
Negoita is also manager of paints producer dufa Deutek, another company in Advent International’s portfolio. Beside Negoita and Mangalagiu, Ceramica’s Board of Directors will include Eberz W. Günter, a German consultant in the brick production segment, and Advent’s managers for Romania, Ema Popa-Radu and Sebastian Tcaciuc.
Prior to his appointment to Ceramica’s lead, Mangalagiu has been working for Henkel for two and a half years. Until the beginning of 2007, he was sales and marketing manager. He later became business unit manager for the company’s adhesives division. This is the division with the highest increase within Henkel in 2006, of 40 percent year-on-year, up to €45 million. For 2007, Mangalagiu’s estimate was a 30 percent rise.
