Moreover, the net revenue of the CME group from operations in Romania amounted to $84.5 mln in H1 2009, $53.3 mln less year-on-year. Romania ranks second, in terms of revenues and profitability, among countries in which CME is operating. The most profitable country for CME remains the Czech Republic, with earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) worth $63.4 mln and total revenues of $127.6 mln.
Maria Apostol, Public Relations Manager of Media Pro, told Business Standard that no estimates for the second half of this year can be made as yet, because the market is unpredictable.
“Advertising markets bounced back to the 2007 level. This was a painful process for us and our shareholders. The power of our brands and businesses was proven throughout this crisis by way of our increasing ratings and rising market shares. We are now waiting for the market to rebound,” said Adrian Sarbu, CME’s President and CEO.
