The move is part of a global regionalization project by the group. EY CSE’s new Manager, Christos Glavanis, told Business Standard that Romania is an important market in the region due to its growth rate and opportunities. Glavanis was previously EY’s Manager for Southern and Eastern Europe.
“The first time I came to Romania, our local office had only 15 employees and now the number is close to 500. When we talk about services and expertise required in Southeastern Europe, assistance for transactions and business, including for EU projects, are among the most dynamic,” said Glavanis.
Speaking of the restructuring plan, Glavanis said that Ernst&Young believes the moment for reorganization has been wisely chosen. “Economically speaking, the globalization of our clients needs a globalization of our company’s presence. It also provides significant opportunities for international development for the careers of our employees,” he added.
Ernst&Young is part of the Big Four, the group of largest international audit and consulting companies, which includes PricewaterhouseCoopers, Deloitte and KPMG.
