The five countries (Austria, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria and Turkey) involved in the Nabucco project (Romania through Transgaz), met today in Vienna to accept RWE Germany as the sixth partner in the joint venture. Turkey originally rejected the Gaz de France application.

According to some European Union officials the joint venture could have a seventh partner, Azherbaijan. The European Union supports Nabucco because it would reduce dependency on Russian gas.
