The locations are to be announced "at the appropriate moment" the company's Marketing Manager, Pia Krauss, said. "The investment for a new Selgros store amounts to €15-20 million. Each new store creates 300-350 jobs," Krauss added.
The company is currently operating 17 stores locally and posted €821.4 million in turnover in 2007, according to data available on the Finance Ministry website.
According to estimates made early last year, the consumer goods retail market was to amount to €40 billion. The main retailers on the local market are Metro, Rewe and Carrefour, with cumulated business exceeding €4 billion last year.
