Bucharest and Cluj-Napoca are the main cities where the company plans to open hotels. Starwood is also interested in Timisoara and Constanta.
“We plan to become one of the most important players on the local market in two or three years,” said Starwood Senior Director of Acquisitions & Development Europe, Africa & Middle East, Vincent Levy.
He added that Starwood will not open resorts in Romania for the time being. The company owns brands such as W Hotels, St Regis and Westin.
