"We currently have 4,000 people leased to companies. Most of the projects are medium to long-term, but during summer, personnel leasing rises by some 30 percent, compared to the rest of the year," according to Lugera&Makler Country Manager, Cristina Savuica. Lugera&Makler is among the top five companies on the recruiting market. The temporary labor market is estimated at some €40-50 million, Cristina Savuica said. In addition to the recruiter's turnover, this figure includes the salaries of employees leased to other companies.
Local legislation stipulates that temporary employees must have the same wages as those they are replacing. "I advise companies to offer even higher salaries to temporary employees, because they need supplementary motivation," Cristina Savuica said.
Those most eager for summer jobs are students. They can become temporary assistants, sales agents or receptionists. They also have the opportunity to continue working throughout the summer, by moving from one company to another.
Companies that most need temporary staff are those whose production increases in summer, such as soft drink producers, whose sales also rise during this period of the year.
