The company plans to open a total five gas stations this year. Three of them are already operating, while the remainder two are scheduled to be built on Autostrada Soarelui (Sun Highway), connecting Bucharest to the south-eastern city of Cernavoda. The total investment budget amounts to €10 million.
OMV gas stations currently provide money transfer services, wireless internet and the possibility to buy lottery tickets. Caprau estimates the Romanian fuel distribution market to increase by 4-5 percent in 2009.
Before his appointment in Romania, Caprau led OMV’s branch in Bulgaria for four years.
