The company’s Marketing Manager, Eduard Popisteanu explained that major growth in the first half of the year came from washable paints, extruded polystyrene, and construction plasters and powders, the first responsible for a 25 percent increase over H1 2007.
At the beginning of the year, Atlas Corporation representatives announced they were expecting turnover of €70 million, up 40 percent year-on-year from €50.2 mln, due to the development of the construction material market.
The company has a production center in northern Bucharest Tunari area, where it produces some of its best-selling products. It has invested some €5 mln to expand its production capacity and storage, and will allocate a further €3 mln for product promotion.
Atlas Corporation has been in Romania since 1994, and has three divisions for production and distribution of construction materials, logistics, and distribution of electronic equipment. To date, it has invested a total €30 mln in Romania. For the distribution of its construction materials, it has its own distribution network, with ten branches in Braila, Brasov, Cluj-Napoca, Constanta, Craiova, Iasi, Pitesti, Ploiesti, Timisoara and Suceava, and a showroom in Bucharest.
