One of the supplementary measures proposed for the buy-back program is to extend this to corporate entities and to include leased cars, said APIA’s President, Ernest Popovici. This measure is also approved by representatives of Automobile Dacia, which applauds the government’s latest decision.
As a means for promoting the renewal of Romania’s car park, Automobile Dacia’s Vice President, Constantin Stroe, indicated that a cutting of the tax by one third will stimulate local car makers.
The government announced recently that the present ordinance will be replaced this summer by one that will oblige all car owners to pay a tax based on the level of pollution and engine capacity.
