Marius Nicoara, Chairman of the County Council, indicated that the European authorities were informed that Nokia did not receive any incentives besides those permitted by law for industrial parks.

“It is true that the people in Brussels asked what assistance we gave to the Nokia people, and we responded that we did nothing more than provide the infrastructure for the industrial park. Once Nokia moves into the industrial park, because as yet the Tetarom III industrial park is not completed, of course it will be granted tax incentives in keeping with legislation in effect,” added Nicoara.
Law 490/2003 for industrial parks stipulates that companies which carry out their activities in such a park are exempt from building taxes and fees for as long as the industrial park exists.

Nokia inaugurated the first assembly line for its Nokia 1200 phone in the Tetarom III industrial park in the Cluj County town of Jucu on 11 February.
