Matei Paun, Managing Partner of BAC Investment Bank, an advisory company for mergers and acquisitions, said that the first part of this year was a waiting period for potential investors.
“Funds are changing behavior in this period, becoming more attractive than in the past six-nine months. Depending on the financial situation, companies want to sell shares either in order to cut losses, or to consolidate their profitability,” Paun added.
“The market is beginning to move. Unfortunately, there are differences of opinion between how we believe the economy will develop and what entrepreneurs are expecting. We believe that, indeed, the worst is behind us, and at present we are optimistic, but cautious, meaning that we do not think the crisis is over,” said Dan Lupu, Investment Director for Central and Eastern Europe at Intel Capital.
