Romania's leu ups to 3.6085 against the euro today, after the monetary policy interest grew to 9%

Banks sold 1 euro for 3.6270 in today's opening session. The leu increased to 3.6085 lei per euro and then slipped to 3.6215 lei per euro. The national currency stood at 3.6215-3.6265 lei per euro at 11 a.m.

The U.S. dollar increased from 1.4834 to 1.4750 U.S. dollars per euro on the international markets, while at 11 a.m. Romania's hour, the euro stood at 1.4750 U.S. dollars.

The interbank interest rates for overnight deposits stood close to the monetary policy of 9 percent per year.
