PwC: The mirage of corporations still attracts Romanian employees

While the economy will gradually overcome the current downturn and the quality of life will reach a higher standard, increasingly more Romanian employees will opt for another type of company than these corporate structures, defined by internal competition and a very tight selection process (the so-called blue companies).

They will reorient themselves more towards small enterprises, where they can have specific projects to manage and a flexible schedule (orange companies), or towards companies with strong values of corporate social responsibility, defined by their respect towards the environment and the community (green companies).

“Romania’s recent history has influenced the natural evolution of the business environment, causing a delay compared to the Western model. The mirage of corporations (the so-called blue organizations), which guarantee comfort and stability, is still valid. And employee preferences at this time lean towards the type of corporate organization, ‘blue,’ in which competitiveness and exceptional performances, a structured environment, and the involvement of the employer in ensuring the comfort and safety of employees come first,” Ruxandra Stoian, Partner of PwC Romania, told Business Standard.
