The new official will replace Razvan Mosoiu, who switched to real estate business at the beginning of the year, and the name could be announced in July, according to a declaration for Business Standard by Radu Enache, the company’s General Manager. Enache added that the “selection process is in full swing.”
HP has been present in Romania since 1997, and once the merger with Compaq Computer Corporation took place, HP launched a new Romanian company in 2002, which focused on a diversified supply of products and solutions, market orientation, brand consolidation, and attracting new clients. Its competitors on the PC and laptop markets are Fujitsu Siemens Computers, Dell, Acer, Asus, Toshiba and Lenovo.
HP Romania is now subordinate to the European Emerging Markets Division, a structure which includes all countries in Southeastern Europe. According to Enache, the Romanian branch is considered regional leader, both in terms of revenue and profitability. As concerns number of employees, HP Romania is ninth in the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region, with over 1,200 employees.
