New industrial orders in 2007 increased by some 23% year-on-year


New orders received by industrial companies increased in 2007 by 22.7 percent compared to 2006, according to statistics published Thursday by the National Institute of Statistics (INS).

Industrial orders were up 10.5 percent in December 2007 compared to November, and 31.5 percent compared to the same month in 2006, indicated INS. In December 2007, new orders advanced 10.5 percent compared to the previous month, sustained by a 56.8 percent increase in the capital goods industry. All other major industrial groups registered declines compared to November.

Compared to December 2006, new orders received by industrial companies rose on the whole by 31.5 percent, all major industrial group registering growth. Advances in the various industries were as follows: capital goods by 64.0%, fast moving consumer goods by 25.5 percent, long-term consumer goods by 6.2 percent, and intermediary-term goods by 3.8 percent (NewsIn).
